Password Policy

As an administrator, you can configure password policies that the MiaRec enforces, such as password length, composition (required number and types of characters), Google reCAPTCHA settings, two-factor authentication, etc.

Password policies can be applied:

To set up password policy on a global level, navigate to Administration > User Authentication > Password Policy and click Edit Configuration.

Password Complexity Requirements

Under the Password Complexity Requirements section, you can enforce the password requirements that are displayed to users when they are required to change their passwords. You can set the minimum character length. The default length is 8 characters.

Also, you can configure the password requuirements based on the following categories:

  • Uppercase English letters
  • Lowercase English letters
  • Numbers 0 through 9 inclusive
  • Any of the following special characters: ! @ # $ % ^ & * < > ?

Under the Password Reset by Email section, you can enable the password reset capability and specify whether the user must provide both login and emal or only email when he/she resets the password.

Two Factor Authentication

Under the Two Factor Authentication section, you can enable 2-step verification on all user account. For details, see 2-Step Verification Methods.

Set up password policy per specific tenant

To set up password policy for a specific tenant:

  1. Navigate to Administration > User Management > Tenants.
  2. Select a target tenant from the list.
  3. Click the Password Policy tab.

The password policies are applied to all user accounts under a tenant.
